Liebenzell prayer requests; July 23, 2010

"You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you can never do more than pray before you have prayed."  Corrie Ten Boom

MICRONESIA

David and Anette Jarsetz and the Impact team are happy that Jesus has made many young people in Yap open to the Gospel. They share: “The growth that happened in Tomil is clearly evident. More youth and adults have renewed commitment to Jesus. Up to now the work rested on the shoulders of just three people, but this year it was delegated to many. There were tearful good-byes, especially on the part of the Yapese.” In the mean time, the team has gone to Palau and is engaged in ministry there. Pray for strength, joy and health as they minister through the programs: a children’s VBS will run until July 22nd on the northern island of Kayangel. It will be followed by the youth conference, July 23-25 and a children’s VBS in Koror.

FRANCE

“We’ll be having a prayer morning with the congregation in Coutances,” writes Evelyn Theurer. “Please pray for God to speak personally, to lead people to still waters (Psalm 23) and that the joy over what we have in Christ will be restored to glowing brightness!” We rejoice with Tina and Michael Eckstein over the birth of their third child. Sebastian was born July 16th, weighing in at 4.4 kg. Both, baby and mom are doing well, for which we are very grateful,” write the Ecksteins.

GERMANY

Thank you for praying for more coworkers for the outreach events. 38 participants eventually signed up for the “Reach Sachsen Anhalt” project, which will continue to run until August 1st. We are still seeking participants for the “Reach Hesse” project, which is to run August 6 - 22.

BURUNDI

A chromosomal anomaly has been determined to be the cause of Lisanne Hartmann’s developmental delays. Praise God that inspite of this she has gained more weight.

More political elections are scheduled for July 23rd and the 28th. Unrest continues to flare up because of the May election boycott by most of the opposition parties. Ever since the attacks in Uganda, threats because of Burundi UN soldiers stationed in Somalia are now being taken very seriously.

JAPAN

Sister Priscilla Kunz and Sister Regina Kraft will be going on furlough, starting July 27th. Pray for good rest and renewal.

MALAWI

Preparations for the church elections in our partner church EBCM are in high gear. A committee is making the preparations. Pray for God’s leading, for fairness and for trust to grow within the church. The elections will be held August 3rd. The president of the ECBM still struggles to cope with the sudden death of his wife. Please pray for him, as well.

The kindergarten of the Ubwenzi village development project is still looking for a national kindergarten teacher and two aids with a heart for children who can support and further the development of the children and tell them about God. The construction of the kindergarten is proceeding well. The weekly kids club, held on Fridays, is well-attended. There is an urgent need for motivated coworkers.

BANGLADESH

“The president of our partner church has resigned suddenly without an orderly handover of administrative affairs,” writes Waldemar Lies. “While a volunteer coworker who has taken over for several months has job skills, he lacks an understanding of the interrelationships at play at the district levels. Pray for a God's provision for a new administrator.”

Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonian 5:17

Prayer is not incessant talking to God, it is unceasing walking with God.
