Heiko Erndwein shares: “At the end of January, a 17-year old girl from a Quichua church, where I help out, took her own life. Her mother found her when she came home in the evening. The mother has lost her only daughter and is now more or less alone. It was a shock to the family, the church and us and was the second suicide in the area since the beginning of the year. We hope there won‟t be any imitators and pray that the church will be able to work through this, especially with the other young people and the mother, who is also a member of the congregation. We are supporting them prayerfully.”

“We plan to be present at the two exhibitions in Mortagne and Mamers, middle of March, with a literature booth,” write the Renz‟. “Last year we were accepted as exhibitors only with great reservations. So far, we have not received word whether or not it will be able to be there. We hope so. Please pray along.”
In Saint-Lô, the Ecksteins share: “For some time we have been looking for someone to help with the kids‟ club, which runs at the same time as the worship service. Now a mother has expressed willingness. She moved into the area with her family several months ago and attends our services regularly. We thank God for her willingness to contribute! Her youngest still isn‟t ready to attend kids‟ club. We are praying that this might change, when mom is involved.”

“According to the old, and still-in-effect, legislation regarding religion we are allowed to work here only until the end of this month,” share Raikin and Uta Dürr. “Please pray for Jesus to glorify himself and for us to be able to stay. Our visas will expire March 8th.
Two additional petitions: a preaching seminar where Raikin is one of the teachers will run through February 11th. An evangelistic outreach will be held in our church, February 9-10. It will be the first one since we‟ve been here.”
PAPUA NEW GUINEA
The very remote village of Yatoam is being ravaged by a nasty intestinal infection. Some of the afflicted have already died. Unfortunately, no medical care is available there. Pray for God to intervene and for helpers to set out on the two-day hike from the nearest aid post.

“There are positive changes in our youth work,” write Lothar and Tabea Sommer from Hongodai. “The youth service has been restructured so the young people can be in charge of the music and technical aspects. It is great to see them apply their manifold talents. "Families‟ are also to be formed. These are small groups to which one can invite people and build personal relationships. Once a week we hold a "Family leader‟ meeting to train eight young coworkers for leading small groups. From a language perspective this is a considerable challenge. But we look forward to it. For many of the long-time coworkers these changes aren‟t coming easily. Most of them are not used to opening up personally and talking about their relationship with Jesus.”
BAD LIEBENZELL
We are expecting about 1000 participants for our Youth Prayer Congress, which is to run Feb. 10-12. The theme will be “Jesus remains.” Please pray that the main speaker, Peter Reid, who is currently under the weather, will be well again by then.
